Who is Glyn Razzell?Below are a few views of people that know from their own personal experiences, who the real Glyn is.March 19th 2002 was the day that changed the lives of everyone in our family. On that day (not for the first time) Linda went missing: as a result Glyn and Linda’s 4 children have lost both their mother and father. Subsequently contact with aunties and uncles and their only Grandparent has also ceased – the only thing these family members have done is continued to stand beside Glyn, their brother and a son. Glyn remains part of a loving and caring family: growing up within this environment we developed a healthy respect for right and wrong and find it hard now to except how the system has let us down, and even misled us. Over the years miles have come between us as we have each fled the nest and started our own families, in the good times and bad we continue to unite as a family celebrating together and offering support in times of need. Since our fathers death Glyn has been the mainstay of our family, both reliable and consistent. I have spent much time with Glyn since Linda’s disappearance and continue to pray that the truth will come out so our lives can be rebuilt. Vicky George - Glyn's sister Having known Glyn all my life I cannot imagine how he could have committed the act that he has been accused of. He has always put his family first and would never do anything to harm his relationship with his children who he loves deeply. I find it hard to understand why so much factual evidence was not raised during his trial, from Linda’s depression to the many sightings of her after her disappearance. Much evidence was dismissed as mere irrelevance. I was at the trial and cannot comprehend how a guilty verdict was arrived at. The concept of “ beyond all reasonable doubt” was certainly not adhered to in this case. I wait the day that this verdict is overturned and Glyn is returned to his loved ones. Paul Razzell - Glyn's brother It’s time I put my thoughts to paper. Linda came to our family a very sick girl, and was loved and cherished by us all. She was a good wife and mother. Where is she? I believe very sick again. Glyn meanwhile is in prison accused of her murder. What nonsense! Glyn was brought up in a Christian family. A very kind and considerate member. When his father died ten years ago he was there to support and advise, willing to help me where he could with the Garden, the house and in many ways. He is a very caring person, a good father, a loyal friend, and a hard worker, who maybe had to give too much time to his job. He is genuine and friendly in his dealings with others, a very strong loving person. MY SON Mary Razzell - Glyn's mum I've had the privilege of knowing Glyn for 10 years. I first knew him as work colleague, who was professional and knowledgeable about his work, and unusually, went out of his way to help colleagues. From spending time with him, it became clear his family was even more important to him than his work. He spoke often and fondly of Linda and his children. He was one of those blokes you would discuss family with. As a result of family values and a strong work ethic, we became friends. Their family attended our wedding. He is a generous, happy professional individual. I've seen Glyn under enormous pressure from work, I've seen him tired, frustrated, drunk over the years and yet I've never seen any evidence of him getting angry, violent or even insulting. I've been surprised by Linda's disappearance, and in my 10 years of knowing Glyn, I wouldn't believe he could be involved. Jonathan Miller - friend I've known Glyn since I moved to Swindon a number of years ago and can honestly say he is one of the most generous and genuine people I know. He is always willing to help and support people in whichever way possible, and I miss being able to chat to him whenever I need someone to bounce my thoughts off. Socially Glyn is a fantastic bloke to go out with and that big booming laugh of his is guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face!" Graham Roberts - friend Glyn Razzell, calculating, scheming, cold-blooded murderer. That’s what the court has said, the press reported and is the picture put before the public. But is that the truth? Not for me it isn’t. The Glyn Razzell I have known as a work colleague and friend over the last 20 years is a far cry from this. Sociable, gregarious, generous, entertaining, articulate and most importantly not a violent or aggressive man. Something is clearly wrong here. Either I have misjudged my friend over this entire period of time or he has become the victim of a terrible miscarriage of justice. I know what I think. Martin Legg - friend
Known Glyn for around 20 years and he has always been a good supportive friend and excellent company. Glyn always struck me as a good family man who would never do anything to jeopardise the relationship he had with his children. In any social context he played the role of good humoured jovial person who always saw the funny side of life and always put himself out to help the people he liked. The situation he finds himself in now does not ring true with the Glyn I have known for 20 years. Chris Willett - friend There is no way on earth that Glyn Razzell is capable of such a hideous action. Glyn was always the type of lad you could take home to meet your parents. I did and they loved him, he was my boyfriend during the Sixth Form of our Church School. He was a kind and caring person, would always go out of his way to help and came to my rescue on many an occasion even after we had split. A regular nice guy. Glyn didn’t have a violent bone in his body and wouldn’t harm a fly. We kept in touch when I went away to Uni and he had met and was with Lynda. He adored her and was very protective of her, especially when she was “ill”. I don’t believe he has done this to her. It’s not in his make up. I feel very much for all the other people involved in this; the children who not only have no idea where their mother is have also had their father torn away from them; Glyn’s mother and siblings; and of course Lynda’s family. I can’t begin to understand how distressed they all must be, but I know that there must be another explanation for Lynda’s disappearance. Glyn could not have been involved. I can’t imagine what he is going through either. I hope he can find the strength to get through this ordeal. Whatever happened to “beyond all reasonable doubt”? Debbie - friend Having worked with Glyn for 4 years, I was completely shocked to hear of his conviction for murder. Glyn is a very bright man with a lot of talent, but he is definitely an intellectual, rather than physical person. He is very witty and a great communicator. I simply cannot imagine him being physically violent with anyone. Friend & work colleague I have know Glyn for about 5 years & in that time he has been nothing but a good friend & a great person to spend time with. I was out with a mutual friend for lunch when we met & after a few minutes we were chatting away like we had been friends for years. After that I met up with Glyn for lunch on many occations with friends & quite often it was just the two of us chatting for hours. The fact that he is now in prison serving a sentence for a crime he did not & could not have commited is nothing short of preposterous. Since he was sentenced last year my husband & I have had a baby & it saddens me that she is now 10 months old & Glyn has not had a chance to meet her. I look forward to the day when it is proven that there has been a severe miscarriage of justice & a loyal, kind & sincere man can get on with the life he should be leading now. Lisa - friend In the time I have known Glyn, I always found him to be clever, witty & foremost an exceptionally warm person. Not only is he always generous, open & honest, he is always without question there for his friends. The thought that he is now in prisonsuffering the indignation of a life sentence for a murder that not only he did not commit, but it is a crime that is impossible to have comitted, in light of the lack of evidence to supportthat it ever took place. The law is a fickle being, with many contradictions. None so much as the belief that Glyn is guilty beyond all resonable doubt. Any cursory examination of the facts (in their entirety) will prove this. Not only did Glyn have nothing to gain by this act, but also he physically could not have done, within the time frame alleged, what he was accused of Juxtapose these facts to Glyn's character & it leaves a more pertinent question. Where is Linda Razzell? We have witnessed many unsafe convictions being overturned or re-examined, many innocent people being held for many years for crimes they did not commit. How long do Glyn Razzell & his supportershave to wait to see the due process of law reflect reality? The truth behind the conviction is that the jury did not convict on the facts, they convicted after they mistook Glyn's disbelief & humour as a sign of arrogance & guilt. Jason - friend |
